Why do TaeKwonDo?

Because it's fun:) It's a great way of getting fit or staying in shape, as it's an all-round workout every training session. It's beneficial, too, as you're learning a martial art as well as training... so self defense and fitness are the main reasons most people take it up. It helps build self-confidence and discipline like nothing else you'll find, which is also another great reason to do it.

Where do we train?

The TaeKwonDo Club trains in the PESS (Physical Education & Sports Science) Building on-campus at the University of Limerick. The Building is often referred to as the "Old" Sports Building.

When do we train?

The TaeKwonDo Club have 3 training sessions every week during term. Most people tend to make two of the three sessions, so pick the days and times that suit you. Training times this term are as follows: -

What should I wear to training?

When you first start training, don't worry! You do not need any special equipment whatsoever to come down training. All you need to bring is yourself! So come along and see what it's all about. If you would like to train make sure you wear LOOSE FITTING CLOTHES - so t-shirts and track legs or shorts are generally ideal. Training is usually done in bare feet so there's no need to worry about footwear.

The one essential piece of equipment you will need to purchase if you do decide you would like to train is your Taekwondo uniform (dobok).For special occasions like gradings and competitions it is required that you wear your dobok, along with the association patches on it... but more on that later.
